Some of my fondest memories of our beach vacations growing up included the hours and hours we would spend down at the beach. Just laying there in the sand. Doing nothing.
These days we don't spend a whole lot of time doing nothing. It's a shame, really. Yesterday on our run Chloe and I were talking about whether we would get internet access in Mexico. I loved how she said she wouldn't even bring her computer because she wouldn't have time anyway. Probably because we will be too busy doing this.

I sat a meditation retreat back in 2006 and on the first day one of the teachers gently reminded us that for the next five days we had nothing to do, nowhere to go, and no one to be. Meditation retreats are kind of like the opposite of the Nike mantra, Just Do It. Its kind of like, Just Don't Do It! Instead, just breathe. That's all. And although it sounds quite simple, trust me, it is exactly the opposite. (If you don't believe me - turn off all your electronic devices, sit on your floor, and close your eyes for 20 minutes. Report back and let me know how that goes).
Anyone who knows me knows I am OBSESSED with ball jars. I drink out of them. I eat out of them. I use them as tupperwear. Storage. Anything and everything. Here are some fun ideas for ball jars in your beach home.
Sorry for the limited posts this week. This little guy was consuming most of my attention:
hi colin. aunt sissy misses you.
A few photos from our visit to Terrain. So pretty.
Colin and I had on our matching anchor shirts for the day, but we learned the hard way on the trip over there that he gets carsick. Quick visit to Marshall's and one cute pair of sailboat overalls later and problem solved!
So yesterday here in Durango it was blustery and cold with a nasty mix of rain/hail/snow. I put a lot of time into finding images of beautiful beaches and beach-inspired photos for krissea. But I gotta tell ya - yesterday as my girlfriends and I braved the elements to head outdoors on our annual girls Snowshoe hike (sans snowshoes this year), there was no place on earth I would've rathered been. If anyone of you are reading this - know how much I love you. And that life really isn't about where you go but rather who you chose to spend it with.
Sorry ladies, but yes, it's time to take those black and matte gray shades of polish off your nails and think pale purples, soft pinks, and pearly whites.

There is something about spring that makes me want to get my nails painted. Apparently I'm not the only one because the nail salon was packed last night. I went with a soft pearly white color (I didn't catch the name or brand of the polish, but it looks very similar to the Van Gough color above and I heart it!)
